I rotate around engineering departments every 6 weeks gaining a good knowledge of the business. Day to day tasks are heavily dependent on the placement. It could involve quality issues or manufacturing improvements or investigations.
I learn new skills daily due to my department rotations. Since starting at Cummins I have gained lots of knowledge and experience.
I am thoroughly enjoying the apprenticeship program. I have no. concerns or issues
The apprenticeship program has been scheduled well. I am always sure of where I should be working and who with. Meetings are scheduled and taken seriously when attended.
I have support if I need it and know where I can get it from. Review meetings are in place on a schedule to check on progress and issues.
Lots of support. I am currently attending a weekly session with an EPA expert, which has been organised by the college. I also have meetings with my work based learning manager every 10 weeks
It provides me with the technical knowledge and skills which I can then apply when I am in the workplace.
No extra curricular activities that I am aware of. However we have had networking events which has involved us going to other Cummins plants and speaking to other apprentices.
Yes
Good company that provides good experiences. Having the opportunity to be put through education at the same time as gaining experience in a world class work place. Pay is competitive and the support is good.
If you have the opportunity, apply to do some work experience.
