cost tracking, change management, contract knowledge, subcontract orders, raising orders, paying suppliers, managing subcontractors, application for payment, updating CTC
Yes, I have learnt how to be adaptable to each subcontractor and I have also learnt more knowledge on change management
I enjoy working at skanska, the only thing I lack is a mentor to help guide me through my apprenticeship. I will apply for one in future via Skanska. University has it challenges and sometimes the education provided is below the standard
Good, however I have not been offered a rotation like some of the other apprentices
Good support but you need to know who to go to
Not a lot, they are often hard to contact and not always good at responding to queries. I faced many issued becoming inducted with delayed my access to the portal where course information was kept preventing me from accessing notes and slides straight away
It's helpful, however a lot of the content is aimed at Client side QS's and not contractor QS so items like whole life costing is not applicable
Emerging talent events occur once a year however I am no longer a part of the co-hort. My last year of emerging talent conferences was 2023. There are also commercial development network events that occur every quater
Yes
I have been exposed to other construction companies via subcontractor and clients and Skanska has proved to have the most ethical and inclusive culture. There are strong company values and always looking to improve. There is a sense of belonging at Skanska and I have felt welcomed. The environment really stands out to me as a Construction company
Be yourself! Look at Skanska's values and goals... do they align to you?
