Calling client and potential customers. Answering emails. Doing admin work. Going out and meeting with prospects and clients face to face. Going to hubs and depots. Attending first collections. Liaising with different departments such as vans, finance, customer service to ensure a client has a smooth onboarding/service. Looking after accounts and maintaining a relationship with them. Adhering to weekly target run rate. 3 weekly team meetings. 2 monthly sales meetings.
Confidence in my communication. Sales skills such as closing and negotiation has improved. Ability to adapt to new roles. Call handling and correct email formality.
I think the programme is extremely rewarding and the support from my team is excellent. I enjoy the flexibility of the role and the fact I can go out and meet with new people everyday is exciting. The responsibilities given to me are great challenges and I don't ever feel pressured by my manager which is something I am very grateful for in my first step into my career. Sometimes it can be extremely overwhelming and it does feel like those outside of the team expect you to have the role figured out by now which is slightly discouraging.
I think the structuring with the apprenticeship sessions is good and the gaps between them is enough to get work done and also do my actual role. Sometimes it does feel like the work load can get a bit heavy from the apprenticeship but it is dependant on how busy the job is too. It's completely relative to how much you have going on at that time.
From my immediate team I feel very well supported and know exactly where/who to go to if I have any issues or questions. My manager is very understanding and doesn't try to put too much on me which I really appreciate. However he does want to see me progress so still likes to treat me the same as everyone else to keep me on track and ensure I get the most out of my graduate scheme. Only issue as stated before is sometimes the lack of help received from outside the team which can be challenging as I don't work with them as frequently but feel like sometimes it can make the job quite challenging. However I think this would be a reflection from most people in my team and not just a personal problem.
My training provider gives plenty of support. Any time i have any misunderstanding or need an extension they're happy to help and completely understand the juggling between the apprenticeship and the role.
I feel like I have definitely taken some of it onboard and can see myself adapting the skills into my job role. Discussing time management definitely helped me and has lead me to start time blocking and planning my days better. Which in turn has lead to me being more productive and felt less stressed about what i need to get done.
There are some social activities, I would definitely prefer if this was pushed more in the sales teams. As after discussing with other grads/apprentices it seems they get more time with their teams outside of work to do social things etc. So as a company they do have them but I do think from a sales perspective it is severely lacking and is definitely something that helps to build team morale or just positive feeling in the work place if you are provided with or encouraged to do more social activities as opposed to it just being work work work. As far as I am aware there aren't any sports teams.
Yes
As someone who came straight out of University to their first 'proper job' I think I got extremely lucky with the job at EVRi. The company is very considerate of their graduates and evidently invest alot of time into wanting us to succeed in our early careers.
This is dependant on the role but as someone applying for a sales graduate scheme for the interview I would advise to be yourself. Educate yourself on the company and become familiar with what the 'ideal' sales person is.
