My role involves 3month placements within logistical/uni-relevant departments at BMW Plant Oxford. I offer my support with tasks to create new processes, improve current ones and implement the changes/new platforms. I am often learning new systems (Excel, PowerBi, SAP etc), meeting new people to expand my network, and facing different challenges as they arise. Outside of my placements, I am part of a Apprentice Charity Team and co-lead the team of 15. We organise fun fundraisers to raise money for our in-house Charity, CALM. I attend University every Wednesday too.
I am always developing all of my skills, in particular giving presentations, communication, being proactive and team-work. I have undergone numerous in-house training sessions that covers compliance, data protection and digitalisation. Within the different platforms and system here, there is always something new to be discovered and learnt. At university, I have been able to successfully develop my report writing skills through my assignments.
I enjoy my apprenticeship. I get to experience and wide variety of departments and create a strong network across the business. Every day is different and everyone is willing to help.
Very well organised with Introduction and Exit Meetings for all of my 3-month placements. The structure is clear with room for flexible and adjusts when appropriate.
I have support from lots of different people at work. Work colleagues, my apprentice manager, mentors and my placement managers. If there is ever a problem or I need some advice, everyone is always happy to help.
My training provider is always available on teams throughout the week for any questions and on-site on my university day. I have 1-to-1's with the course leader too.
My qualification allows me to use real-life work examples in my assignments and this provides me with a greater understanding and tools to help me perform better. Everything always relates to work.
Apprentice Charity Champions Team - I organise charity fundraising events incl. rounders, car washes, bake sales. Support with Apprentice based events - open days etc.
