My role is split between between being the point of contact for customers contacting East Sussex highways as well as the working in the mobilisation hub, helping with general admin that is involved when mobilising and demobilising sites.
I have definitely felt that a key skill I have improved upon is my confidence, whether this be in regards to speaking in a group or my own self confidence that the work I am completing is correct and to a good standard
I am currently enjoying the programme, especially in regards to the roles I am operating in as it helps expose me to other areas of the business and has allowed my to interact with many different people in the business too.
I would say the programme itself is fairly organised with a large variety of people and resources able to assist you, however it can be a little daunting at first with the scale of the programme itself.
I have received a large amount of support from not just my manager but also other employees within my teams. People are always willing to help and support me in any aspect, even non related queries regarding college.
I revive some support from my training provided at Chesterfield college, however I don't have a large amount of interaction with them. They are always available though if I needed as there are teams I can email within the group itself.
I feel to some degree that the qualification will help me perform better in my role as it will help improve my confidence as well as my overall knowledge, however for me personally I believe that the experience you gain in a certain role will benefit you more in the future.
There are several other extra-curricular actives that are available, we have previously had a football team which I was apart of which played every week. Also the teams I am involved in do try to meet outside of work every other month or so to do some form of social activity.
Yes
Everyone I have interacted so far within the business have been very approachable and supportive. I also the believe that there is a huge amount of opportunity to grow a career in this industry.
Try and see over aspects of the business to meet new people and better understand the overall processes.
