I'm an analyst in the Mental health and disabilities analysis team. My role entails data analysis such as performing modelling work for the Mental Health Act reforms or devising how many patients went through a specific treatment pathway using coding software
I've learned many skills including use of statistical software such as Excel and R code. Furthermore, my economics skills have improved such as cost/benefit analysis. I've also improved other skills such as project management and communication
The programme is very enjoyable and provides a good balance of work and study. The work is very rewarding as is most of the university content
The programme is well structured with deadlines clearly given and study/work dates clearly defined. Whilst a lot of work is independent, I've never felt blindsided by a sudden deadline and all needed information has been clearly shown to me
I have received plenty of support from my employer both in regards to offering help with difficult uni modules to ensuring I have sufficient study time to hit deadlines. My employer makes sure my study time always feels like a priority
I receive a fair amount of support from my training provider through seminars and check-ins with my apprenticeship advisor. Whilst I have not needed it much, it is nice to have as a safety net
My qualification has provided me with many skills that I can use within my work environment such as with the economic data modules. Therefore, I have been able to perform better at work
There are plenty of corporate objectives to work on which do not correspond with day-to-day work. In my current team there are plenty of social and team building activities to look forward to
Yes
It's an interesting qualification that helps you apply the skills you develop on the university side of the apprenticeship. It is also more financially viable with no student loans and a salary
Be prepared to work hard, however the work is especially rewarding
