My role at Arup is HR Advisor, in this role I deal with daily administration issues e.g. creating letters, responding to emails both external and internal etc.
I have learnt a great deal in my apprenticeship, gaining knowledge with creating letters, using company portals and creating vacancies. I am continuing to learn new things everyday.
I enjoy working at Arup the team is friendly and supportive and I have had no issues while working there. I enjoy coming to work each day and I feel Arup has worked hard to give this feeling to its employees.
During busy periods I am thanked for my contributions by managers and external colleagues. If any projects are available I am not overlooked and I am currently helping with two. I feel a valued member of the team.
I received an induction on my first day and continue to receive training when I need it. The team is supportive and helpful. We are all given the opportunity to delegate work each week and be in charge of task management, this process is always done fairly.
I receive ample support from my training provider and have both a phone number and email if I need to contact them for help and advice. They are always happy to help with any problems/queries I might have.
Everyone is always willing to help me if I am struggling with SLA or I am stuck on a particular task. There are ample resources on the company intranet if I need questions answered. Everyone seems happy to support me.
Salary can sometimes be an issue with regards to social costs but is very good for an apprentices wage and is always being reviewed by senior members and in most cases being increased as I progress with my apprenticeship and gain more responsibilities and skills
I attend gym classes on a lunch time set up by Arup with a portion being paid by them. Social events are always being created by the sports and social team but also by employees who have ideas for a social event. These advents are always well put together.
Yes
They are a friendly, reliable and enjoyably company to work for. They support you wherever possible and one of the best companies I have worked for to date.
Come prepared, ask any questions you have in the interview as they are more than happy to give you the information. There are ample opportunities with Arup so look into where you would like to be in 10 years.
