My role is to help the company's users with technical issues in the London office and provide remote support. The work is usually 4 days a week in the office and one day a week from home, which is a study day. I have had to adapt and learn various roles and tasks, as the work must be performed with internal and external users, different vendors or stakeholders, and other tools and technologies, including physical equipment such as computers, printers, cell phones and audio-visual systems.
During the apprenticeship, I gained hands-on experience in various aspects of the field, such as networking, hardware installation and maintenance, software troubleshooting, system administration, cybersecurity, and technical support. I have had to adapt and learn various roles, tasks, tools and technologies, including physical equipment such as computers, printers, cell phones and audio-visual systems.
I enjoy the hands-on experience, and having a supportive mentor who provides guidance, answers questions, and helps navigate challenges.
The program is clearly defined with learning objectives that outline the skills and knowledge I am expected to acquire by the end of the apprenticeship. The program provides opportunities to apply the knowledge learnt in real-world scenarios. It is very complete.
I have a very supportive mentor that enhances my apprenticeship experience. He provides guidance, answers questions, and helps me navigate challenges. As well, I feel valued and respected making the experience more enjoyable.
The program provides access to resources such as online courses, and training materials. On top of these, there are support services such as career counselling and academic advising by the Apprentice HR - Talent Acquisition team
I have developed the skills and competencies needed to perform the duties effectively which will open up opportunities for my career progress. I think I gain knowledge in a particular area which makes me more valuable in my role.
