Quality Manager currently responsible for the improvement of education provided to all apprentices studying on courses that come under the bracket of Technical or Professional qualifications/standards, e.g. carpentry and joinery or Adult care work for the later. I monitor all Quality Improvement Plans, chair meetings and create quality improvement initiatives, create and draft policy, attend CPD and deliver training to all staff.
I have developed several new skills in position. This includes an indepth understanding of the apprenticeship standards, communication skills and people management skills. I am consistently tested by my job role and apply all understanding of currently Quality activity and improvements to the job role and improvements of all our provisions. I have applied the learning on my course to my job role as it is directly relevant to any and all quality improvements taking place.
I am really enjoying the course. The small class sizes and the tutor are excellent and allow for many conversations to take place that solidify learning more than in the wider group sessions that could take place. My tutor is extremely knowledgeable and applies their knowledge effectively, which has allowed me to learn effectively.
The programme is logically sequenced and organised to a good standard. It allows me to know why we started on a given topic and where we are moving to. There are already discussions around EPA that allow me to judge my development against end grading and the professional discussion. Very happy.
My employer is supportive of my apprenticeship and allows me to engage with the Off the Job learning. I am encouraged to keep my practice up to speed, as it is directly relevant to my job role. I am fully supported and have no issues with this.
I have all the support I need. As an employee of the training provider I can speak to my tutor via teams whenever required and can discuss class work outside of this. The tutor shares resources and sets adequately testing assessments when required.
All of my learning thus far is directly transferable and related to my job role. Working in Quality and studying the Improvement Practitioner qual goes hand in hand and I have already started to implement some of the early learning (six sigma, TIMWOODS) into my quality improvements and sharing with my wider team.
I am currently on the meeting group for carers and parents and am working on our CPD offer for our wider team and personal development for our learners. I am currently organising a sponsored marathon for our company too to raise money for local charities.
Yes
It has its heart in the right place, the standards of teaching are excellent, the resources are great, the staff are friendly. Everything is good.
Take a look through the GC website at all the courses and don't hesitate to drop GC a line to get the wheels in motion!
