I am an apprentice at a children’s nursery. I help out making sure the children are ok, I can set up activities and ensure I’m giving the best care to the children.
I have further developed my knowledge on childcare and how to interact with children.
I do enjoy my apprenticeship and I enjoy working with the children. Even though it can be hard, this job is also very rewarding.
It’s pretty organised, we are always set work to do and we can attend webinars. But it has been difficult to keep organised for the last two months as my tutor has changed. With this new tutor it has become clear what we need to do and how to move forward.
We do get a good amount of support but it is hard to find time to get out of the room and complete apprenticeship work, so this means we need to do it outside of work hours which can be difficult.
Our tutor has been very helpful and I this this new tutor will be even more helpful.
I think doing this apprenticeship has helped me understand childcare in a different way and how to deal with a range of children.
Not at the moment but sometimes we have social gatherings and we do quizzes within the staff
Yes
They are a very busy and exciting nursery but we do still do get some support needed and most of the staff are lovely.
If you enjoy a busy environment, you should definitely join.
