My main duties as a Dental Nurse include assisting the dentist, sterilising instruments, and helping with various administrative tasks.
I have been able to further develop my listening , communication, and time management skills whilst working as a Dental Nurse. I have also learnt to be more patient and understanding.
The experience has been invaluable, you are able to ask as many questions as you need to in order to gain understanding of the job role. I have been able to learn much more than I would have been able to otherwise.
The course was very well structured and paced very well. Enough time is given to complete everything you need to and they go above and beyond in regards to resources and information to help you to finish the course.
I received alot of support from start to finish. If there was anything I didn't understand I was able to arrange a meeting with someone, or they were able to provide me with extra resources if I needed anything to be clarified.
The qualification has helped to gain more in depth knowledge of dentistry and how everything works. Through the coursework and webinars we were encouraged to ask questions which helped us to learn more from our peers as well as the tutors.
Not particularly. They have recently allowed other staff members to attend a weekend gathering that usually happens once a year. To my knowledge, it's only previously been for the Practice Managers.
