Flight operations work experience that provided an insight into becoming a British Airways pilot, including flying a simulator, team building tasks and flight training options. Also looked around a 787 undergoing maintenance.
Team work and leadership: Undertook different activities that aimed to develop team work. Listening and learning: Taught and briefed on how to fly an aircraft simulator.
It was a lot of fun to meet people with similar interests and to be able to fly and aircraft simulator and look around an aircraft was incredible and a unique experience.
Communication prior to the event was good, although some date errors were included in communications that were communicated. On the day, there was a clear schedule of events and we all understood what was happening.
We learnt about the culture amongst pilots and the relationships you can build when you take part. We also learnt a lot about the schedule of a British Airways pilot.
Helped solidify my plans to become a British Airways pilot and also made it seem achievable as well as taught me ways into the profession.
No - although the cost of a simulator flying experience is around £100 and this was provided for free. A lot of what occurred is also a unique experience that you cannot purchase.
Yes - connected on LinkedIn with a lot of pilots and staff as well as getting the emails of pilots to ask any questions to.

I already have recommended the work experience to a friend. It is organised, structured and informative and well worth the time it takes up.
Be honest in what you want to do - I initially applied for airport operations but highlighted that I wanted to be a pilot in the assignments, this instead got me a position in flight ops, which was much more preferable.
