My insight day involved many activities that are much needed for the role of a pilot, we did a group project where we had to make a paper plane by following the instructions given to us. We got to go to the simulator used to train pilots, which was the airbus A320 aircraft and also get our hands on it and be able to land it by ourselves by following the instructions given to us. Furthermore we got the chance to go to one of the long range aircraft used by British airways and see what are its main parts and how does a pilot operates it, which was pretty much very interesting. Finally we got a chance to see how were the crew/ staff members trained for the safety of the customers who use their services and how they are trained.
The skills that I learned from it were team building skills, leadership skills and be able to follow the instructions given to us by the members and see if we were able to follow it as needed, which again plays a important role in a pilot's job. this work experience helped me to improve my team work skills and leadership skills.
I enjoyed my insight day a lot and was able to make many friends which were also interested in the same career as me and shared out thoughts on it and what all we have done to get our dream career. I also got to clear any doubts I had about the role of the pilot and what were the next steps to be able to become a pilot and how can we join this airlines in the future.
the insight day was very well organised and I really enjoyed it and learnt new stuff that I didn' t know about.
I learnt a lot about the company's culture and what are the different roles in the airlines and how everyone plays an important role in the airline to be able to proved the best services to their customers and takes feedback from their customers to improve their services for the future and how they support people form different backgrounds.
It helped me very much in deciding my future career path in the aviation sector and how the aviation sector is increasing rapidly throughout the years to come and how many jobs this sector will create for in the future to come and how it plays an important role in the society to connect the people around the world.
No, i wasn't reimbursed for this work experience.
Yes there were lots of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees and be able to understand there role in the airlines and how we can join the airlines in the future and the different programs they have for the people who want to join the aviation sector.
