I am a manager of 2 teams that deal with insurance credit hire claims to collect money. I do regular one to one catch ups to evaluate employees performance and also report performance to senior management
I have learnt to improve my change management skills to reduce the barriers to change given to me by employees
I really enjoyed this NVQ. It helped me improve in my communication skill and has helped me present in interviews more articulately. The NVQ teacher/helper was a also a great help!
I enjoy working for a hard working company but I would like to feel more valued in my role as I am under pressure but try to deal with it as best as I can
The NVQ program was very well structured and I always knew what the next step was. I had structure and always had booked in dates for the next meeting
She was excellent. She helped me understand perhaps more simple tasks and I was able to test my understanding with her. She was also good at pushing me out of comfort zone
I do get a lot of help and support from my department and direct line manager. The company also support you by ensuring that there is time available to work on the qualification
I travel a lot and although it was my choice to further my career I do feel that for the work I do I would be paid more especially as I manage upwards of 20 people in a high pressure role
there is lots of charity events we are always involved in. We have had social nights when we as a department have performed well and also as a manager we look to increase team cohesion by going out for meals etc. Outside of work I play hockey at a high level so this allows me to separate my personal life from my social life.
Yes
It is a very stable career and if you want a long term career then it is possible to move all over the world and feel you are making an impact in a hugely respected company
Work hard and really push yourself. Don't be afraid to change career paths and learn as much about the business as you can as it is huge!
