Making sure that the patients detained and informal are done so correctly with the correct paperwork and that they are given the opportunity to appeal as per the law. Organising tribunals and independent hospital managers hearings and carrying out audits. Keeping staff updates with expiry and renewal dates and ensuring that we as a hospital don't exceed these.
I have developed my Microsoft office skills immensely and I have gained a lot more confidence with speaking and doing presentations. My organisational skills are a lot better than they ever have been and I am learning so much about the fundamentals of a business. I am learning more every day about the business I work for and the things which I wouldn't normally think about such as budgeting.
I really enjoy the apprenticeship. I find it easy to understand and straight forward. My tutor is very helpful and knowledgeable and tutorials are interactive and interesting. I would definitely like to do another apprenticeship with paragon in the future because it has fitted in nicely around my work and home schedule and is very interesting.
My tutor is very organised and helpful and I feel stability in the structure of the programme. My tutor sets me work that fits in with what I am already doing at work so it is non disruptive and I then have experience to draw on when completing my assignments which makes life a lot easier!
My employer is extremely supportive. In the first place they gave me extra hours to allow me to do the apprenticeship and then since starting they have made sure I have my protected time every single week and my managers have been there to support me during reviews. I keep my manager updated about what I am covering in my apprenticeship and they allow me time to shadow the relevant people.
My training provider and tutor are very supportive. The workload is not too much and it is easy to understand, my tutor is always contactable if I have any questions or concerns and will provide tutorials on anything I do not understand. Everything is explained well to me and the instructions on the assignments are clear.
I know a lot more about the company that I work for now because of the research I have conducted for work in the apprenticeship. I know more about how the company runs and have a read a lot more policies and procedures than I would have if I was not doing the apprenticeship.
There are lots of different extra-curricular activities at Cygnet. We have the multicultural network, we do lots of different activities and events for the patients and there are a lot of social events which everybody is invited to.The culture here is really nice and friendly and there is always something to do.
