  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Work in ground operations, working in either baggage, logistics and loading. Working on doing flight turnarounds, arrivals, departures etc. Ensuring that passenger baggage and cargo are either loaded onto the plane or if unloaded, given to colleagues or unloaded to the passenger collection belt

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have developed a lot as a person throughout my apprenticeship, I have gained loads more skills, including people skills, and with various other opportunities have learned presentation skills, working under pressure and many more.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although it being a bit unorganised due to my programme being the first ones after covid and management changes, I enjoy my programme to a good extent. It is very enjoyable on a day to day basis and i look forward to working

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship started off initially with a great structure which was split evenly across the different sections of the apprenticeship but as the programme went on, some issues did affect the structure quite significantly however there has been good progress made to ensure it becomes well organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive support from my employer when I require it and they do come in and assist me from time to time but sometimes it is a bit of going back and forth but it has been going in a positive direction

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has been a bit lacklustre at the start due to inconsistency in tutors but as of recently, it has increased quite significantly in a better way due to better tutors which has lead to a lot more support

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification i feel can help me perform better but in terms of work and when i am carrying out my work it is a bit too generalised to other departments when it isnt quite focused to my department

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are loads of extra curricular activities that i can get involved at my work, theres loads of activities and events which i have enjoyed and has helped me building my skills and has boosted my experience in the programme a lot

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because British Airways for me personally, i feel like its an amazing company to work for, and the opportunities that I have and know i can get/reach are amazing, plus working for such a big company makes a big difference for me in terms of my portfolio and future steps


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • To gain as much knowledge and understanding of the role that you can so that if your application is successful you are open minded and prepared for the role
