  • I monitor our inboxes for scheduling, maintain our spreadsheets, assist in trip planning, assist in our DFM process, distribute our timetables and support our management and delivery staff where needed.

  • Yes improved communication skills; finance management; time management; interpersonal skills; email writing; the office package; Adobe suite; health and safety process; safeguarding process; first aid; youth engagement.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my day to day work I feel as though I am productive and helping make an impact on the young people we work with and the community. I get along great with my co-workers and look forward to coming in most days.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My plan is very well organized I always have an idea of what I will be working on in the coming months and my tutor really helps organize our course worker in productive way. I always feel that I am on course to have a good mark by the end.

  • I receive lots of support from my employer they are very understanding of our needs and offer lots of training and learning opportunities for the staff here.

  • I receive plenty of support my tutor always has plenty of examples off ideas for our course worker in is always super quick to explain anything in further detail or answer any questions I may have.

  • My qualification has helped me learn about more facets of the business then I was initially exposed to allowing me to become more well-rounded. It has also helped me with research that has helped my knowledge of the youth work industry and the regulations that surround business like ours.

  • There are extracurriculars are company volunteers in charity activities runs and has plenty of staff days out.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe were working on making a difference in the community and with that young people that use our provision. the company offers fair wages flexible hours and a healthy work environment. They offer lots of training courses to allow you to build skills that may prove useful outside of the company as well.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Innovate Dorset?
  • I would recommend spending time researching the guidelines and regulations for industries working with venerable young people. I would also recommend researching topics such as ADHD Autism and OCD before joining up as these are neurodivergences that we often see in young people working with our provision learning tips and trick and just generally how the conditions affect people in education is a really great starting point. If possible I would recommend trying to gain some volunteer experience in fields such as youth work or child care of possible.
