  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The first year consists of going to a training facility offbase for a year and completing our part 66 modules and level 2 city and guilds qualification. Then the next 2 years consist of 6months placements in British Airways hangars

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills especially use of new tools and reading engineering drawing and manuals

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme, its challenging but rewarding and we have been shown the opportunities available if we work hard so its very motivating.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Our programme is quite structured. We did our first year of theory and now we have placements where we know we will be for 6 months at a time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • We recieve lots of support. We have a few learner progress reoprt meetings with our employers to check we are on track and understanding everything. They are easy to contact or find if we need any support or have any questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive lots of support such as the regular meetings. They also put in recovery plans to ensure we dont fall behind and can catch up.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification that i could earn at the end of my apprenticeship gives me so many opportunities in this industry. It also gives me a chance to then develop further qualifications if i wish.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are always social activities to get involved in. British airways is a huge company woth lots gping on but as an apprentice we are always encouraged to get involved with sports events and charity events.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The career opportunities and support is amazing. If i perform well in this apprenticeship i can have an incredible career within British Airways


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Just try your best, you dont have to be the most confident person in the room but you want to be able to convey your experience and passion for aviation and willingness to learn then you have a good chance.
