I resourced nurses and support workers for mental health and learning disability packages of care in the community.
I learnt about project management skills, such as being aware of when things go wrong and how to track and have contingencies in place to solve any problems. My problem solving skills have developed a huge amount doing this course.
I would say I enjoyed the support and time I received from my tutor a lot. However the course work did seem to be very repetitive at times.
It seemed nicely structured, and I was assigned worked that had similar topics and categories, and once completing that I would move on to learn about different topics entirely. I.e would learn about communication and theories and once completed I would move on to operations.
At the beginning it wasn’t really understood how much support I would need, but after my tutor took the time to explain what was needed I was then given the time necessary to do my course and do it well.
My tutor was always very busy and we did struggle to find a time to meet. We often had to book a catch up days in advance, but once we met I received a lot of support and it was clear she was always listening and finding solutions to help me with.
I have a better understanding of how teams all connect to one another within a business, as well as how the work I do can go on to affect others within the business. I have my awareness of things such as finance within an organisation too, which I knew very little about before this course.
We have lots of social gatherings and occasionally we have networking events within my workplace. For Paragon though everything was done over teams.
Yes
Mainly due to the tutor that I had and how supportive she was, whilst also allowing me to take initiate and be creative. The course itself was repetitive but I’ve heard that it has now been updated slightly to change this.
Always reach out to someone if you’re unsure of a task. It’s also better to get it tasks done straight away rather than wait until the deadline is coming up like I did!
