My day to day role involves engaging with customers to help find the pain points within their current workflows. I then work with the customers to tailor a solution to this issue using the various solutions SAP can offer to enterprises. Alongside this I also assist in maintining our customer experience center we can show customers when they come to our office to learn more about SAP.
I have developed many skills, particularly working with and around people. Alongside this the SAP apprenitceships team have hosted many sessions to learn from others to help build these skills. On top of this they have also sent us to events to help build up networking skills and to also help us understand the scale of SAP
I thoroughly enjoy my programme each day there is always a new challenge or something new that has gone wrong! Working in presales comes with many opportunites to engage with customers and learn about what they do. Since starting I have been on several events where I can meet some of the SAP partners too and see what they do and how they help us.
At the start of the programme it was a bit less organised however this is the pilot year so we were all coming into it not too sure how it wil go. Since then it has vastly improved leaps and bounds and has a very solid structure that we all understand now.
I recieve a good amount of support by having regular one-to-ones with my manager. As well as this we have sessions with the further apprenticeship team at least once a month to get us together as one large cohort.
Our training provider has been hit and miss. They are great when they're easy to contact when we require assistance with something or when we have our virtual workshop sessions. During the first module I found our one tutor (for a group of 15+ apprentices in different companies) went on holiday the week before the due date which made it hard to ensure my work was the best.
The training provider like us to relate our work to our role to help us perform better but it can be quite hard due to our degree being a data analyst pathway when I don't work in a data facing role. Aside from this they likely have helped to some degree however I'm unsure if it was purely that or whether other factors came into play.
There are lots of extra curricular clubs and activites to get involved with. There is a book club, golf club, music club, running club, mens and ladies football clubs, and also a (free!!) onsite gym that employees can make use of which does have classes and personal trainers. There are also frequent events held throughout the year to celebrate and network, such as quarter end.

They have a great atmosphere, great office, great opportunies. You can meet so many new people, develop so many new skills, and overall just have a great start to your career. Also everyone is so welcoming even though your some of the youngest people to step foot into the SAP office!
Just be yourself, its going to be impossible to pretend to be someone else for the whole assesment day, let alone the 3-4 years for a degree apprenticeship.
