As a 1st year my day to day role involves being in the training school on a rotation of activities to prepare me for the Plant environment
I have learnt many skills including: How to use a mill, lathe and how to weld as well as PLC's mechanical and hand fitting techniques
I enjoy the programme as it works well with the other apprentices and is overall very enjoyable, it gives you something to work towards.
it is quite well structured as all through we are on a rotation between different parts of the training school or business which is set out on a spreadsheet in advanced
I myself have not needed much support however I am aware that it is there should you need it
we do receive a lot of support from the college staff during our time to help us complete assignments and understand what they are teaching us better
I have not yet been out performing my roles as our 1st year is training howeve.r I am definitely feeling prepared ready to go out and perform in my role
The apprentices are good at organising events like this for example apprentice football or after work social events
Yes
It is a good work environment with lots of good people to work with and good development opportunities
Make sure you make your application stand out from the crowd, really show yourself up and tell them everything about you so they see exactly who you are
