My role is for one day a week to undertake my college lessons to achieve the qualification. This is then followed by 4 further days of practical experience with machines, hand tools and welding equipment.
i came into this program having some experience in the engineering sector as i was already employed by the company. the course allowed me to refresh and build on my knowledge
i enjoy coming to work
some areas are very strong, however there is constant changes in regards to staff from B-met, it seems like a failure to retain staff
we have a direct manager with a weekly meeting to discuss any problems we have.
for any issues we have they are an email away or up the stairs for any questions.
some areas will help me a lot, however there are a lot of assignements that we have completed that will have no use
There is a weekly football team, where we rent out a 5 aside court. this is where i met some of the apprentices from other year groups.

the qualifications and experiences gained from this apprenticeship will develop you into a fully capable maintenance associate. The pay is great even as an apprentice and plenty of opportunities to change into different sectors
Make sure you are willing to work hard for the qualification, always arrive earlier than the start time, as the time we start is the exact time we start work. Understand that you will be in a working environment with adults and therefore you should start acting like one.
