My day to day role includes allocating the tasks to the payroll team, dealing with queries from employees via email, and dealing with processes such as inputting information into the employees record e.g. absences and attendances. I also attend meetings regarding relevant changes and updates that need to be made.
Over the course of my apprenticeship so far, I have developed professionally as well as personally. Being in a professional working environment has helped to build on my communication and confidence skills. I have also developed new skills such as how to deal with difficult queries and how to manage and prioritize tasks when it is significantly busy.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship at BMW Group. I feel that the work on my placement challenges me and there is always something new to learn. Within my department, I also get to work across the different BMW plants in the UK. I also have the opportunities to take part in extra curricular activities which gets me out in the business and meeting new people.
My programme is organized and structured in a way which benefits me. My training provider keep in contact with the organization to ensure that what I am learning theoretically is in line with what I am currently learning on placement. This means that I am always able to connect my work.
I receive a good amount of support from the employer. My training manager ensures that I am kept up to date with all changes that are relevant to me and any support that I may need is always well provided to me. My placement are always constantly making sure that I am coping well with the work load and that no extra support is needed.
My training provider always provide me with monthly 1:1s to ensure that I feel supported and any concerns I may have can be raised. The lessons are always well put together ands we are provided with great support handbooks to help us complete our tasks.
I feel confident that what I learn through my college is helping me to perform better in my role. I can apply what I have learnt to the work I do on my role which helps me to understand the processes better. Furthermore, I know a lot of legislation behind the role which helps to provide context. I don't believe that I would have this much knowledge without my training provider.
There are many extra curriculars that I can take part in at BMW. This involves being apart of the apprentice charity team where we host events to raise money for BMW's chosen charity, I also have visited careers event which has been a brilliant way to network and represents BMW apprenticeships.
Yes
BMW Group can offer a wide range of apprenticeships so it really is for anyone. It has brilliant opportunities to work in different plants/countries. You meet lots of people and can take part in lots of different events. An apprenticeship at BMW is a great way to kickstart your career.
My advise would be to be yourself and have confidence in yourself!
