  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Whilst working at Siemens I have rotated into three different parts of the business (Digitalisation team, Order to Cash and CS Finance). Currently I am in the CS Finance team where I will work on raising journals for the month end to report on warranties, unbilled revenue and WIP. Alongside this I will work on my digitalisation projects that aim to reduce time spent on manual processes in order to produce time savings for the business.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Before joining the business I had never used software such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps or KNIME. I would say I have gained some great knowledge on these skills and have used them within my position. I believe I have developed quite my presentation and reporting skills whilst in the role too.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme! Every team that I have joined have been so welcoming and willing to support me wherever they can. I love the variety of trying new roles in the business through my rotations and my managers are encouraging with my studies in offering time for me to complete any exams/tuition. I think the programme has been great in developing my skills and my personality whilst at work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think the programme is very well organised. I have regular calls with my talent coach which my manager always attends and they help me produce a plan in when to have exams completed for to enrol into the case study. Again, management is always happy for me to take time to study and this is something I am extremely grateful for.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Both my Line Manager and Team Manager are extremely understanding in me taking time to study. They are always offering opportunities for me to develop my skills within the business too through offering me a range of projects that each use tools I had never seen before joining the business. I have regular 1-1s to discuss my progress and how I am getting on and this is something I really enjoy and find useful. I couldn't think of anything else my employers could do more to support me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Kaplan is great at providing resources for examinations and having sessions online to teach each module. I like the Live Online sessions and feel they are extremely useful when learning a new section of CIMA. My talent coach was great in our calls at helping me plan my exam dates and also answered any questions I had on the exams. My only improvement would be probably more regular calls with the talent coach and for the Live Online sessions to not be spread out over so many weeks. Some sessions can have a 2 week gap and this I don't think works well.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would say Kaplan definitely helps me to preform better in my role as by completing my learning journal I am always reflecting on tasks that I have done each week.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are sports teams and days you can have for volunteering. We have regular bake sales and charity days in the office that are great for networking with other teams in the business. Myself and the graduates also have days out where we have done team building exercises such as an escape room which I really enjoyed.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Siemens Healthineers to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Everyone at Siemens is extremely friendly and welcoming which is great when you join a new business as a graduate. They truly believe that no question is a silly question and are willing to answer any queries that I may have about the business to help me learn. They are extremely flexible as an employer in offering the hybrid working which works great for me and there is always opportunities to develop all types of skills within the business. Management want you to succeed and are extremely supportive in all aspects of career development.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Healthineers?
  • Be ready to learn. Since joining Siemens I have learnt so many new things not just about the healthcare business but digitalisation skills too. The software they are using such as Power BI and KNIME I believe are the future and are some great skills that I have developed whilst working here.
