My role is Talent Acquisition Specialist for our UK & Ireland operations, this involves recruiting the best talent into the business across different operating groups.
Since starting my Apprenticeship I have developed my existing Excel skills. There are many improvements to be made to our teams reporting and data and due to the Apprenticeship I have began working on these. By the end of the programme I am looking to be an expert and use data to support recruitment across the business.
The programme has been great so far; especially the collaboration that has started between colleagues and other students. This should enable us to share best practice and really get the most out of the programme. I'm also enjoying the fact that the module content is leading to me having to build relationships with experts in our business that I previously haven't collaborated with.
The programme has been very structured from day one. The expectations were set on group calls prior to and during the course. The communication is also strong with many emails and calls in place to alleviate any concerns we might have.
I receive as much support as I require from my employer. They have a full understanding that I have to commit to 6 hours of Off The Job training per week and work with me on integrating this time into my day-to-day tasks.
As mentioned on question 4 the communication has been brilliant, I have regular meetings with my coach and know if I require any support/clarification that they are there for me to contact at any point. I receive regular updates on tips/tricks to get the most out of the programme.
It is only early stages of my Apprenticeship but I can already see a difference in my role. Some daily tasks are becoming easier due to my new skills learned on Excel, I'm sure by the end of the course there will be a huge difference.
Absolutely, we meet up socially as a team a couple of times a year but we have multiple committees and charity events that are available. For example, I am currently on our disability diversity group within our team which focuses on initiatives to increase applications from candidates with a disability and make the process more equitable.
Yes
I've been in the business just under 10 years and completed three qualifications that Enterprise have funded. This will be my fourth qualification and is proof that Enterprise develop/promote from within. This is main reason I would recommend this as a great place to work!
My main tips to candidates are always to research the business, focus on the competencies that we assess for the particular role you have applied for, and bring your authentic self to the interview. Outside of competencies we love to see candidates who are ambitious, positive and willing to learn.
