I am a shared resource between the Admin and EHS departments. I do about 80% work with the health and safety team including basic management of the EHS reporting system, audit support, communications and other duties as required. In Admin I spend time on the Switchboard desk answering phone calls and directing visitors.
It has been good for my to brush up on rusty skills as well as learn new ones.
I am enjoying it although the first few months I struggled as I needed more challenging work. That has now changed and I Feel much more productive and happy.
The college course is good. I think the structure in the Admin department needs some work as I Felt like a third wheel a lot at first. Since my new manager in EHS has started though I have been given a great framework to work in, with regular updates and check ins.
I feel well supported.
I have been left to get on with things a lot. Partly because I am an older student with other qualifications, but it would be nice to have a better system.
It gives me formal business admin but for my role in EHS it is not directly applicable.
Yes lots of team wellbeing events
Yes
Over all it is the best place I have worked. It is not perfect, and there are some areas that need work, but I feel it is a friendly, welcoming company with a diverse employee base.
