Supported living home support work and also community support work. No personal care involved but supporting individuals to become or maintain their independence. Can be anything from shopping ITT cooking taking to social events
Yes I have learned a lot as I had not previously worked in support work. The training has been excellent and I have been given the opportunity to do Apprenticeship which has been very helpful and educational
I enjoy it very much due to the variety of content and diversity of measuring progress in different ways
Very well structured
they give me time to do the Apprenticeship work and are supportive at supervision meetings too
As much as I feel that I need most of the time although have had sessions cancelled and date confused so communication could be better at times
It definitely helps and some of the modules are more relevant than others. Some more care based than support based but I understand that is the nature of the course
Yes we have social events Pub Quiz and Christmas party or opportunity to have team meetings too
Yes
Because I really feel part of a team and get plenty if support and guidance if it is required. The management team are also very accessible and caring and the pay is ok. I feel like all my colleagues really care but also nice people to socialise with
Go for it, if you want to work in support and make a difference to other people's lives you will be looked after and feel fulfilled
