  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The Aspiring Leader Apprenticeship is a four-year programme, allowing apprentices to move around on different placements within the business. There are a mixture of operational, corporate and wider-business roles that we might find ourselves gaining experience in as I am currently in the process of completing a placement in Terminal 5 Heathrow as a Customer Experience Representative. In the context of being a CER, my daily duties involves checking-in customers for their flight, hosting at information desks to help customers with any queries or questions, and helping with the self-service bag drop machines. This programme provides me with a wealth of valuable experience with diverse means of learning as we are able to gain insight and contribute towards different areas of the business and gain a fully-qualified degree at the end of the 4 year course.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot as it takes me out of my comfort zone and allows me to gain experience in new things that I would never do out of choice! I am well supported by all of my colleagues, least not of the apprenticeship team who are always happy to help so you are never alone in any aspect. The variety of the programme means you are not stuck working the same role for the four years so all-in-all it has been a great thing for me.
