Attending meetings and working with suppliers in order to procure necessary products, working with invoices/purchase orders and contracts/documents. I also have to revise for my CIPS exams, and there are eight in total to complete.
I have learnt many skills within the procurement cycle, and on top of that I have also grown as a person in terms of confidence, dicipline and independence.
I really enjoy it and in particular enjoy the perks of hybrid working and flexible hours. This makes working a lot more enjoyable as it does not feel repetitive and I feel as if I have a lot of responsibility and control over my work within the business
It is well structured and there are many different teams (we change placement/team every 6 months) in order to get a range of experience and skills. The process is very simple and is managed/communicated well. Everyone i have interacted with so far has been so nice and helpful.
More than enough. They have all been amazing at managing my work load well. If i have too much, they ease it and If I do not have enough work, they give me more responsibility and tasks. They do this all whilst allowing me more than enough time to complete my mandatory 8 hours of CIPS revision per week.
More than enough time and support to complete my 8 hours of CIPS revision per week. They also give me extra "Study days" when I have exams approaching.
I think my CIPS work helps me within my role at times, especially with terminology key information.
There are loads of Apprentice/Graduate social events, such as bowling, cinema trips, pub golf (on a Friday night haha), football, badminton etc as well as other social events such as football which is open to anyone and you are also welcome to bring friends from outside the company to it.
Yes
There are so many perks, the work is enjoyable and exciting mostly and as previously mentioned, the hybrid working/flexible hours give you control over your week and help the days feel less repetitive. It is also amazing therefore to help work around your out of work schedule too. Everyone within the company is very nice and helpful. The only thing about it which I find difficult at times is the CIPS side of things, as I feel like the exams come very fast, and there is loads of new content you need to learn for each one. On top of that, the pass marks for the exams are mainly 70% which makes revising for multiple exams at once a challenge for me.
Be yourself, everyone is very welcoming and helpful so being yourself only makes you feel more comfortable. everyone is treated the exact same no matter how or little experience you have so you will feel valued and like a key member of the company. You will get the chance to do many great opportunities here so take them when they come as they are very beneficial and also fun.
