Supporting children as they enjoy their day at nursery. Welcoming children to the nursery, creating a fun, friendly atmosphere. Helping set up activities to engage the children's curiosity. Creating a language rich environment with lots of conversation. Managing the children's routines; snack time, garden time, lunch, personal care and naps. Supervising children to ensure they are safe. Supporting children as they develop skills and relationships. Observe children, incorporate their interests to create fun learning activities.
Ideas - coming up with fun activities, music and movement ideas, creative maths activities. Communication and conflict resolution - positively supporting children through disagreements.
Learning the theory and doing the practical work at the same time has been so valuable to me. I feel confident in my ability now I've finished the course. I've enjoyed getting to know the children and my colleagues.
The course is structured into months. You can clearly see what topics you will learn and when each workbook needs to be completed. I found the schedule gave enough time for each topic.
They were always available to give advice and extra support.
We were given one day each week to spend at the training centre. We would have learning sessions, group activities and free study on that day. We are able to contact our tutors anytime for questions/support. They have laptops available and textbooks at the training centre.
It has deepened my knowledge of child development, I can support children better and understand their holistic development.
I attend their annual conference event.
