  • Supporting the build on the shop floor with the aid of document creation, work enablement and problem solving

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed a lot as a person, with skills such as confidence and communication. Knowledge as a mechanical engineer also developed a lot

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Job feels a bit different to what was initially described and varies a lot with placements so it has lots of ups and downs

  • Not very organised. Lots of work been done recently to improve this, but there was no set up / framework when i first started

  • Lots of support through the early careers department who conduct reviews every 12 weeks to ensure i am on track and feeling ok

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Lots of changes with tutors but has been much better this year and support has been ok

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Feel the role is far from linked to my qualification as there can be little subject knowledge required at times

  • Yes there is, however sometimes not communicated well

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Very interesting place to work with the nature of the product that they manufacture and a very competitive salary especially at a young age. With lots of opportunity for development and progression in your career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Try and make lots of friends within work / college especially if moving to barrow from away as you may want others to house share with
