  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role will include running cables, terminating electronic equipment and working in a team which will meet problems some days which i have to use my initiative to deal with. i have a mentor who supervises me.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i have learnt many new skills such as my communication is a lot better. i have learnt so much about electrics that i never knew before. i have a much greater understanding on how systems work. i have learnt how to read drawings and interpret information.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i enjoy the programme and there is a nice balance between theory and practical. i feel comfortable asking questions if im unsure. i feel safe in the working environment.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • i find the programme to be structured to some what degree. i think the training centre should be slightly more organised and keep courses dates when they say and tell us a lot more in advance.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i find i get alot of support from my employer and pointed into the correct direction when ever im in need. i was shown a company called health assured that is a helpline to talk about any problems and issues your facing such as mental health, money, addiction, etc.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • i recieve a lot of support, i ask questions and they point me in the correct direction.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • i feel i perform better becauce i have a greater understanding of the jobs i will execute in my role which have the information has been given my my training provider.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • no i tent to not get involved but there is loads to offer and explore.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its company that has many roles and is doing really well. there are many benefits to it and also you will be forever learning. if you were unsure of your role then there is help given and many different routes to go down .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • be honest and be yourself. do research and ensure your 100% happy with the role you have chosen.
