On a non college day, after your first year you are based in a maintenance role with a maintenance team, you will be called to breakdowns on robots etc to go and fox the problem to get production running again. As well as this, you do PM's which is servicing equipment etc
I have learnt fault finding skills and got better with my hands on ability. I have also improved my communication and got better with people.
I enjoy the program to the fullest extent and love coming to work
The job work is very well organised with placement plans coming out months before you start placement allowing changes to be made but the college side needs a bit of improvement
We have frequent catch ups, performance/pay reviews and have safeguarding officers to come to if you are struggling.
We receive support on college work whether it be due date extensions when needed or help.
I feel the qualification does help in some ways but also not for a maintenance role.
There is plenty to get involved in, whether it be joining the charity team, newsletter team or more
