Analyse different business data from HR data, defects data, budgeting data, presenting findings and completing stretch activities. Attend university once a week online studying things from programming, networks, business and society and data science. You also have full block week three times a year where you study at uni.
Data Analysing skills, presentation skills, interpersonal and communication skills. Plus skills are university like group working skills, programming, report writing, creative skills and critical thinking and reflection. Also have completed a number of stretch assignments to complement my learning and tick off other skills like project management skills.
I am really enjoying my apprenticeship with BAE Systems, I have really come out of shell and have developed in many different ways and in ways I thought wasn't possible. I have been given many opportunities to develop my skills and to further my career in the company.
The programme is well organised into four different placements each taking a year. The university is also structured with one day of study each week and three lots of study weeks throughout the year. You are given plenty of time to complete assignments so you don't need to worry.
You get lots of support from the employer there is a dedicated support team of early careers folks that look after you throughout your time, plus you have your line manager who are helpful also. Finally the employer has employee assistant programme should you want more independent support.
You get lots of support from the university, you are given a study coach from the university who supports you throughout your time at the university. You can set up 1-1 support with them should you need it. Also they have dedicated study support team should you need it.
I lot of the topics taught at Level 4 and 5 don't relate to the data analyst and it more feels like an IT degree rather than a data analyst degree. You don't start the data analysts modules until level 6.
There are plenty of extra curricular activities you can complete, from stretch assignments at work on work related projects, to early careers events like open evenings, to STEM events giving something back to the community you in live and the schools that you used to attend.

The benefits package is very good for apprentices, the pay is good also, the well of support and guidance is very beneficial to the programme and you are given so many opportunities to network and stretch yourself to develop your career. You will likely have an option stay afterwards.
Fully prepare for the application process, be honest, yourself and take notes, ask lots of questions. Be prepared for fully engaged interview process, they really want to get to know you better.
