I am a senior fleet coordinator, my roles consists of getting commercial customer vehicles booked in for services, breakdowns, and general repairs. This includes taking inbound calls, email bookings, and using a system called 'Kerridge' where we keep details of ongoing open repair cases.
yes, I've learnt so much in the last year about vehicle maintenance, and since starting the Team Leader apprenticeship, I have learnt a lot about managing a team and organising both your own time, and the time/tasks of others.
I enjoy it a lot, i find the content interesting and the self-study tasks are fun to do as i can be both informative, and creative.
The structure is good, however i feel like some things could be better communicated, namely the 1:1 support with the mentor team.
My direct supervisor is great at supporting me, they give me time to do my apprenticeship and have always offered materials and knowledge, as they did the same course as me.
a lot of support, i know if i ask, they will give me the time and space to work on it.
so far i'm still in the early stages, but i do feel like the conflict resolution modules has really given me a lot of confidence and perspective in my role, especially when dealing with difficult customers or when issues with colleagues come up.
yes, they let you take a day off for charity commitments, and we just had our annual department meal.
Yes
i like working here, especially as they are very flexible with home working. i do wish management were a little more transparent with their goals and needs for the team, as sometimes it feels like they know a lot more about where the team is heading than we do.
negotiate a higher salary, be honest with your supervisors, and learn as much as you can
