  • Wide variety of roles over the 5 years programme, providing finance support and knowledge on project finance as well as reporting and governance roles within the Air Business

  • Accounting skills developed through CIMA. Networking skills developed through F2F engagement with peers and senior leadership

  • Some roles are better than others, overall enjoyable with one bad role across the 5 years

  • Clear structure but exit roles was not clearly defined at start of programme and isn't good relative to other similar schemes

  • As much as required

  • As much as is required, i rarely use it

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • enables me to apply for more senior roles later in career. There is very little real world application to the CIMA programme

  • Many peer networking events and social activities both as part of and related ot the scheme

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Good salary and learning provided, many different roles and with role switching encouraged, even if you don't like the current role, you will find one you do like. I would not recommend the Apprenticeship route into finance, however.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Be interested in the product and reach out and make as many connections as possible; It's a massive business and there's always something new appears, a large network is one of the biggest assets.
