On a normal day, jobs can vary. Most of the time I am maintaining the tooling dies ensuring they are in a good enough condition for production. This varies from cleaning to having to grind down trim edges to ensure they are able to cut a panel correctly and sufficiently.
since I've been an apprentice at BMW, I have gained a really good understanding of the job role and also a bunch of skills I can take away for day to day life if needed. As I continue my career here, ill be able to further my knowledge as I work along side new people
to a large extent, as I was able to meet so many new and nice people. I've also been given opportunities I wouldn't be able to get many other places. the support you have access too is also very good weather that's work related or personal related issues.
very well, the training opportunities are always offered to us. the support we are able to get from the company is also very good. Sometimes when no jobs are on the section it can be a bit difficult but your manager will always ensure your doing something instead of sat around.
so much, whenever I've had an issues I've always been able to go to my employer and talk about my issues. if I ever need something that I need for work I can also easily approach her. throughout the whole apprenticeship the support has been there even if its not what we want to hear.
When it comes to support, compared to later years that have BMET training provider. I feel Swinton college haven't given as much as other years as their training provider is always in contact with them and also coming into work frequently to help them whereas Swinton college our trainer comes in every couple months
i get taught ways of working, to the point where I'm able to complete a good majority of engineering tasks due to hand fitting activities and calculations
work offer a fair few extra-curricular activities such as the mountain challenge. we also offer a charity team and newsletter team where it gets share to the company of work and articles we were able to complete in the time of the month.
Yes
As the time I've spent here i haven't regretted. The skills that come with this opportunity are also amazing and wouldn't be able to get this many other places.
its 100% worth the opportunity.
