  • Day to day roles include liaising with clients to determine financial statement accuracy, discussing challenges with team members and taking ownership of audit sections.

  • Skills developed include, numerical understanding of several accounting areas, communication skills with individuals at various levels, coaching juniors.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Programme has been positive as I will hopefully gain a prestigious certification alongside developing audit and wider job skills.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Programme is well organised with in-centre tutors being crucial in passing exams. However, back end administration is very poor with constant chasers required to BPP throughout my apprenticeship due to lack of access to resources.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Employer is supportive by providing dedicated study days, managers in the office are also flexible if they are aware of upcoming exams. However, study days are sometimes not sufficient to get through material, particularly for first two advanced exams.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As mentioned previously, strong support received from my employer on this.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Qualification has allowed me to take ownership of more complex areas of audit engagements and practically apply what I have learnt. Development is a key reason for taking the role and this has been evident throughout my apprenticeship.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, employer provides several social events throughout the year with quarterly meetings of the entire department to discuss developments and to socialise with the whole team.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Employer which pays strongly compared to competitors, managerial team are welcoming and will push you to develop yourself and also learn on a daily basis.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
  • Be a friendly, approachable individual which is willing to work hard and develop themselves, as the qualification and audit knowledge is a great asset to have.
