I usually use either a lathe or mill to thorn down aluminium, steel and brass. I have to take materials down to tight tolerances and make sure they have a good finish on then as-well as doing my college work and write ups on the jobs.
Yes I had a bit of excperience on machines from college in the past however I have massively improved upon these and learnt a lot as well. I also learnt a lot about hand fitting.
I really enjoy my apprenticeship so far not only the job but also the people I am around not only being my tutors but also my fellow apprentices who I get along well with.
It is well structured and we know where it is heading as well as general times at all time such as when we will go in our first placement.
There’s lots of support available from BAE wether it’s with substance abuse to mental health there is lots of recourses available on our canvas pages as well as a lot of further support as well.
Lots of support it given from our provider to our college to make sure it is fit for us to use and we are getting from it what we need to progress and develop.
Well it’s not only in work I have learnt the skills I have to far there is also a lot of exsperience I have gained from my time in the college workshop as well as during my lessons so I feel my qualification will help me greatly.
There are lots of activities to get involved in non of which I am at the moment.
