Processing ice cream mixes in the pilot plant, running physical measurements, running tastings, creating specifications, formulating ice creams
yes - lots of ice cream knowledge, communication skills, organisation skills
I really enjoy the programme, I think it enables you to gain valuable experience whilst also completing your degree. Unilever are also really good at ensuring you are fully supported.
Very well organised. As apprentices we get to rotate into different teams each year, this is always well organised and thought through.
I receive lots of support from my employer. I always get my off the job hours and any extra time if needed. My mentor is really good at keeping in contact with me making sure everything is okay.
Lots of support. They are always checking in making sure we are not struggling. They are always there if I have any questions.
I think that the knowledge of the food industry gained helps me in my day to day job as it provides context and knowledge as to why we are doing certain things.
Yes, there are lots of activities to get involved in. We have many sports clubs on site, as well as apprentices arranging social activities outside of work.
