My role as an early years practicioner is to look after the children in my care and ensure they are safe and happy throughout the day. Some of the responsibilities within my role are feeding the children, putting them down for sleeps, making bottles and supporting their physical and emotional development.
Throughout my time at the nursery, I have learnt many new skills such as making bottles, chaging nappies and how to save a child from choking. I have been able to further develop my child development knoweledge and ability to recognise safety concerns. I have also learnt new skills based on how to support childrens development.
I am enjoying my programme and I feel it is beneficial to me as I am learning a lot of new information which I am able to apply on a day-to-day basis while working in the nursery. I am learning to work as a team with those who I work with.
I think my programme is very well structured and my assesor is always prepared and organised when she comes into the nursery. The course is split up into units and I feel this is a good way to learn as all the coursework is seperated over the course of the appreticeship.
I receiive a good amount of support from my employer. My employer provides me with various training courses as first-aid and safegurarding training and she is always there to support me with anything with my apprenticeship. My employer takes the time to bond with emplolyees and support those who are struggling.
My training provider supports me well during my apprenticeship, she is willing to answer any questions I have and discuss any topics I may need further help with. My training provider is always well prepared and organised so this helps the discussions run smoothly and helps me improve my learning experience.
I feel like my qualification with help me perform better in my role as I will have a lot more experience in the feild of work and I will have a wider knoweledge on it. I feel that my confidence is improving and I am becoming more comfortable with my routine.
At my work, there are various extra curricular activites such as work nights out and days out. Every christmas, work holds a christmas night out where you are given a free drink pass and a venue is hired. This is a good way to socialise with those who you work with but outside of work.
Yes
Honey pot day nursery has provided me with support during my apprenticeship and the experience I need to work in childcare. I have made many new friends and been able to meet new people while working there. I have been able to experience the job before getting my qualification and I feel this iseesential when getting a job.
One peice of advice I would give to someone who is applying to do an apprenticeship with Honey pot day nursery is to be organised, I would advise them to organsise their time efficently and be prepared to work full time by gwtting a good sleep routine and healthy diet.
