Designing valves based off of customer orders using CAD software and creating relevant documentation to ensure the valve is made properly.
I have developed my existing knowledge of CAD programs and gained much new knowledge of how to design products from the ground up and how to ensure that the product is properly designed to comply with both customer specifications and government regulations.
My programme is somewhat enjoyable, I learn a new skill or develop an existing one every day and there is always a new problem or task to overcome and learn.
My programme is quite well structured, with there being a full plan regarding my progression through my level three training into a HNC and then into a degree. I am aware of the time that each section will take and what is expected of me in each section.
I receive as much support as I need from my employer, if there is any training work I need to do they will give me time to do it and will provide any guidance or information that I may need to help with assignment tasks or other work.
I also receive as much support as I need from my training provider in gaining my qualifications, they will provide as much help is allowed with assignment tasks and give plenty of time to work on these tasks on my day release to their training centre.
I feel that my qualification helps me a lot to perform better in my role, I have done a CAD focused unit in my training so this improved my skills with CAD software even more than at my work, I have also learned some of the key math based principles that I have to consider in my work.
There are regular social activities that are planned by the sports/social team and are advertised to anyone in the company such as dinners and formal parties. There is also a sports team which you can get involved in if you want to.
