Week 1: Learning about the company. Networking. Understanding IT and computer rules and safety Week 2: Practising advisory and giving presentations. Week 3: Working in the assurance department
Gained certificate from ICAEW. Improved my public speaking hugely. Gained confidence in networking.
I felt the first week was a bit slow and unnecessarily lengthened (I.e. we did not need to spend an hour learning about how to use twitter). Great thing to add to my CV. Every one I met very nice and helpful and willing to share their expertise. I was valued.
Very well organised. Each day started with an agenda. Our 'training logs' gave us the opportunity to know what to expect. However, a few days started a little bit late.
Very nice people. Everyone in the department showed me exactly how to do everything and were willing to answer to my questions. Felt like I was actually helping the department when I was doing account checks and realised the stuff was going to be used in the proposal.
Explained everything clearly. Mentor booked new appointments with me. Able to ask for help/ advice if so needed as the environment was welcoming.
Got £511.20 from the internship. Spent £25 for lunch in the last week. Spent £150 on travel to and from the internship over the 3 weeks. Had a £20 social on the last day. So that left me with a little over £300 for the 3 weeks so it felt like I gained £100 a week working there.
There will be alumni events apparently once a month
Yes
support you well
Application is worth revising for and doing practise papers. Read up about the company and just be prepared. Great experience to be part of this organisation and meet all the people there.
