Involved in the project management for the Dreadnought SSBN Submarine Programme.
I have developed competencies against my apprenticeship standard such as stakeholder engagement and leadership as well as some personal and professional development in the workplace.
I enjoy the on the job part of the programme and enjoy working in such an important business however I sometimes find the University side of the apprenticeship more difficult.
Very well organised and structured.
Learner Progress Reviews every 11-12 weeks with dedicated skills coaches as well as regular check ins with skills coaches, project management functional leads and line managers in placement.
We have a personal academic tutor that we can contact however this is quite minimal.
The academic world doesn't relate hugely to the professional setting of BAE however some of the knowledge is transferable. This is difficult to map as the two settings are very different although I feel BAE and UOC try to bridge this gap as much as possible.
Social activities with my team as well as stretch activities to help personal and professional development.
Yes
BAE is a fantastic place to work with lots of opportunity to develop as a person and professionally whilst being involved in a business which is so integral to national and international security which makes the job very rewarding.
Work hard and gain your appropriate qualifications. Seek a role that you feel you would enjoy as there is always ways to progress into a different role or business area.
