i am carrying out the role of workshop manager. supporting an engineering team maintain a busy hire demand profile, whilst meeting business KPI's in relationship to breakdown and service/maintenance events, lead by a demanding MOD customer. I'm responsible for the health and safety of team and ensuring we meet our goals.
the module evidence is directly relatable to my role, and involves deeper thought as to how your actions as a manager directly effect your team. its allowing me to better understand my approach in order to get the best from my team.
the course is great and I'm learning a lot from each module.
the programme is good, it's delivered in digestible modules which help me work around my current responsibilities. it can be demanding to keep up together with current modules and collating the evidence, i have had to develop better management of myself in order to prioritise the assingments
Ameybriggs are giving me the time i need to manage my course and assignments. its been a learning curve for them too, this is the first managerial apprenticeship they have completed.
LSP offer me as much support as i want. monthly teams calls for the module content, and regular review meetings to make sure i'm on track with my assignments. lecturer is always happy to respond to any queries by email or phone too, when he's available.
the course has in 4 months already made me understand how i can be better in the way i am managing my team to meet KPI's and organisational goals. its made me look at what type of leader i am and better my support to the engineers im responsible for.
locally myself and the engineers have regular time away from work for curry nights etc. it helps build and maintain morale and comradery. i have just signed upto ride the BHF london to brighton route with another team from within the business too.
