Project manager, manage medium to large scale projects for the ministry of defence, manage internal stakeholders and communicate with external equivalent project managers and site contacts, manage finance, report to senior leaders and govern projects to required standard
A lot of learning and research to do, hard to apply to your role, the degree thinks you have a lot of creativity but big corporate companies who can afford these apprenticeships are highly bureaucratic
Good to speak to other apprentices who work in different businesses, and hearing shared experiences, but the course programme is repetitive and de motivating by year 3
Poor, no overarching ‘year lead’ tutors join and leave the business regularly aswell as skills coaches, I had to re sit a module once and they gave me a resit date 2 weeks before submission as they didn’t load me on to the right module
Line manager was poor, too stretched in their role, senior PM did a lot of the leg work for me to support me,
More as they years have gone by, but believe this is due to the course being announced to cease mid way through my apprenticeship
Should have done the project management degree, professional management course not given me much to base delivery on
No I work from home 5 days a week,
Yes
In delivery, working in a good team who collaborate together and deliver successfully I enjoy my work and take pride in it
Learn about the business and its values before interview
