In my role i have a wide range of tasks, I don't just have one responsibility within my department but rather tackle anything that comes my way. This work ranges from CAD, benchmarking, investigations and much more.
I have learnt new skills from this apprenticeship which are engineering specific such as CAD. I have also developed many existing skills such as communication and teamwork.
I am enjoying the programme very much, the combination of work and university is tough but very rewarding. It is also nice to have a break from work life with the studying at university.
The programme is well structured, all of the university work is scheduled well in advance so you know what's coming. There are regular reviews to check how i am getting on and if i need any support.
Support from employer is excellent, always someone to speak to and get advice from. People at work are very understanding that university requires a large amount of time and effort.
Support from the university is generally good and if i am having any issues there is always someone to speak to.
I believe that the qualification definitely helps to perform better in my role, it covers a wide range of subjects. Therefore some subjects help me in my role and others don't but they may be useful at a later point in my career.
Yes there are loads of extra curricular activities to get involved in, there are groups for loads of activities similar to university societies. I receive loads of invites to get involved in new activities.
Yes
In general it is a great place to work, all the people are friendly and willing to help. It is a really welcoming environment to work in, its not super intense and there is always someone available to ask for support.
Don't be too nervous, all the people are really nice and helpful. Try to demonstrate key skills that you believe would be valuable within JLR such as teamwork and communication.
