My role involves initial vetting of adviser applications ensuring they hold the correct qualifications and identification documents. I assess their application for any risk or reputational issues, referring to the Risk Committee when required. I ensure recruits are appointed to the partnership in a timely fashion to meet strict deadlines. I communicate and liase with many different members of the partnerships to obtain the necessary documentation and to ensure the correct regulatory framework has been met.
I have learnt lots in my new role including regulatory knowledge which I previously had no concept of, attention to detail as I can spot discrepancies and ensure documentation meets regulatory standards, communication skills within the whole of SJP and different stakeholders.
I enjoy the collaborative environment and the social aspect of this e.g. ,meeting many different people from various departments within the business. I have a lot of variety in my role which allows me to apply my knowledge in new ways.
I have dedicated days blocked out in my diary to focus on study. My manager is very supportive of this course and helps me where I need it. The training provider has well structured learning that makes it easy to do both in office and at home.
SJP has been a brilliant company to complete my apprenticeship with. The support offered has been more than I could have hoped for within a corporate environment and has definitely broke down preconceptions I had toward the finance world. After being a part of an apprenticeship scheme in a previous finance company, I can definitely recommend SJP to be a lot more welcoming, friendly and supportive.
My training provider arranges monthly meetings in order to see where I am at with the content and to assess if I am in need of any help. They are also on hand to email at any time with any questions I ever have which has really helped me feel supported through the process.
My qualification has drastically helped my role as I am now able to understand the why behind each of the processes I do and ensures I am able to take things further with my advanced knowledge.
Within my team we are very social and arrange lots f events to get involved in e.g. meals after work, weekend days out. As well as this my cohort of fellow apprentices within the company also arrange to meet up each month in order to socialise and see each other.
Yes
SJP is a very supportive company and cares about its people and I think this is a very important quality in a company especially a big corporate one like SJP. Being valued as an employee is very important and I feel like SJP meets this.
Be yourself as much as you can as SJP look for people.
