As a parts advisor at BMW head office, I'm responsible for ordering parts that the technicians need in the workshop. I keep fast moving parts fully stocked and put away parts where required. I cover emails that are sent into the workshop and book the work in for the week.
My customer service skills and confidence have developed massively. I've learnt how to talk to people properly over the phone and how to deal with challenging customers. My confidence with the systems we use have improved massively from when I first started and can now easily navigate my way round the systems.
I started my apprenticeship right after finishing my A-levels in college. It was a big change for me, especially going into this role with no knowledge and no experience. I'm now around 8months into my apprenticeship and so happy I chose to do this after I finish college. There's so many opportunities that come from working here and am so happy with my choice to work here.
My apprenticeship programme is very organised. I'm given plenty of time to be made aware of any training courses coming up and am informed when there are deadlines I need to meet.
I receive plenty of support from my employer. If I'm struggling with anything, I know there's always someone I can go to to find a solution. I always feel as thought I can ask for help with any task I'm doing, so it gets done to be as good as possible.
I go to BMW Group Academy for my training which is supported by inspiro learning. After each training week my CPA will arrange a welfare review to see how I'm doing in my qualification, workplace, and overall life. They always make clear they're here to help if I'm struggling with my coursework.
My customer service training helps me perform better in my role as it teaches you how to interact professionally with customers. It teaches you the right thing to say and certain guideline you need to follow. Dealing with challenging customers can be a struggle but in my training we're taught how to properly deal with them.
There are many different events/launches that are available for me to go and work on. This is useful as it allows me to network with people around the company and gives me more experience.
