Field service engineer apprentice, assisting and learning from engineers while they work on medical imaging equipment (X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc). Each day I drive to a different hospital to work on a wide range of advanced equipment. I attend college 1 day a week to work towards my level 4 qualification.
My engineering skills have developed greatly, and I have grown more confident working with tools.
I've really enjoyed my apprenticeship so far. The job is interesting and the days don't feel boring or repetitive.
The organisation of the programme has improved greatly while I've been here. The managers take on board any feedback we give and try to find solutions and ways to improve.
I receive lots of support from my employer. My manager and colleagues are always happy to help.
I receive plenty of support from my training provider, and they are fast and helpful with their feedback.
My qualification has improved my critical thinking skills. The work often requires me to look out for health and safety information and perform risk assessments, which I have continued to do even when not required for the work.
There are lots of social activities available
Yes
The company is inclusive and everyone I've met here has been helpful and friendly. I receive plenty of support and the job is very interesting.
Do some research about the company and the equipment you'd be working on. It's important to be enthusiastic.
